Chris Korda returns with a collection of tracks on Perlon

Chris Korda will release a new EP “Apologize to the Future” on Perlon, his second release on the German label in the last year.

There are artists who through composition tell much more than a sound, but real life philosophies. Chris Korda is certainly among them.

Chris Korda is an extremely controversial artist, not only in the music he offers but also in his choices. Being able to describe the complexity of his musical and non-musical background is not at all a simple matter. And we won't even try.

Because the leader and founder of the Church of Euthanasia, to carry out her personal battles, has often preferred the musical medium. Composing is an act of denunciation, which carries within it an intent, if not revolutionary, without a doubt with a declared alignment.

His music is the mirror of the anti-consumerism of which he is the spokesperson, of his immense abilities and propensities. Which combine the production of software for musical composition with activism for anti-natalism and human extinction.

Chris Korda's return takes place on Perlon, Zip's German label which is the perfect place for Chris' artistic expression. This time the collection of traces presents the key issues of the 21st century as a theme for reflection.

Among all, climate change, economic inequality, anti-natalism, the singularity and human extinction.

The musical influences present within the new recording are multiple. The production goes through a complex process that combines electro rap sounds, techno and jazz elements. Combined with robotic choirs, the result leads to sad melodies that flawlessly portray the crisis of this century.

This EP resumes the work that had already begun with “Akoko Ajeji”. In the album released in September, there was an important musical research. The use of different musical meters for each instrumental part, combined with the phase shift technique inherited from Steve Reich, had created a unique pearl for the Perlon catalogue.

Furthermore, the reflection on a society devoured by consumerism and sadly steeped in human disparities and dramas had been captured with jazz melodies built one inside the other, without losing the characteristic fun house feel that excites and moves the track. So much so that some tracks were proposed by Zip himself during his DJ set at Sunwaves.

The new EP “Apologize to the Future” is not yet available, but you can find a preview clip of the B2 track “Overshoot” on wordsound.de.
