Chris Korda & the Church of Euthanasia

Fuck Breeding, Let's Dance

First of all: Chris Korda likes to wear women's clothes, puts on good make-up, looks like a dark-haired disco queen and is the head of the "Church of Euthanasia", which is recognised as a non-profit organisation by the US tax authorities and which aims to "restore the balance between humans and the other species on earth" by abstaining from reproduction, decriminalising suicide and procreative sex. Motto: "Make Love, Not Babies" or "Fuck Breeding". Pillars of support: Albert Camus, Rudolf Steiner, Willheim Reich, Abbie Hoffman and the euthanasia assistant Jack Kevorkian. Declared enemies: Militant anti-abortion activists.

Answer to a question in Der Spiegel as to why "The Church Of Euthanasia" does not address its message to "the Third World's inhabitants with many children": "We have no right to give advice to people we have exploited. Besides, every North American produces more rubbish than an African." Period. Yes, yes, American sectarianism, it never gets boring. But with Chris Korda it could all too easily distract from his fantastic debut CD "Six Billion Humans Can't Be Wrong" (Gigolo Records/EFA/Ixthuluh). Not only does it sound completely different to the electro-gigolo-style mega-maxi "Save The Planet, Kill Yourself", it also expands the horizons that the follow-up model "Steel Peas" hinted at.

Basically, Chris Korda makes his own brand of solo electronic music (and is not Jimi Tenor at all, but rather Martin Rev in a deminished techno frenzy). Small jazz licks (Korda used to be a jazz guitarist) hint at house and funk, but that doesn't really mean much, because the tracks usually go in a completely different direction anyway. Korda doesn't shy away from typical synth factory sounds and creates a kind of bizarre, nervous electronic labyrinth that often sounds like psychedelic disco swing carousel music for fairs with dangerous clowns.

It is only logical that we encounter the Chicks On Speed on "Six Billion Humans Can't be Wrong" as well as another irresistible and hard-hitting Hell/Bartz mix ("Fleshdance"). Contact: http://churchofeuthanasia.org
