Paradiso becomes a Euthanasia Church for once

AMSTERDAM (ANP) - The former church building Paradiso will host the Church of Euthanasia for the first time in its history on Wednesday, November 13. DJ Chris Korda, the controversial pastor and founder of this religious group, will perform.
The Church of Euthanasia opposes the multiplication of the human race. The church promotes suicide, euthanasia, cannibalism and anal sex on its website (www.churchofeuthanasia.org). In the 2001 video clip I Like to Watch, Korda compares the coverage of 9/11 to sports and porn.
The organization of the Lowlands festival decided in July to remove the same house act from the program. The organization preferred not to see Korda's views expressed at the festival.
After the concert, DJ Chris Korda will discuss the content of his performance with the audience. Presumably his act is a not-so-subtly packaged form of social criticism.
In an accompanying letter, Korda states: "I Like to Watch is a personal study in corruption and decadence: it reveals the extent to which I have been perverted by the inherent voyeurism of the mass media." He also writes: "In my lifetime, tens of thousands of species have been wiped out, their genetic data literally wiped from the face of the earth."
